Rickerbys expands with new employment Partner - December 09

Leading Gloucestershire based law firm Rickerbys LLP today announces the appointment of Darren Sherborne who joins the firm as Partner and Head of the Employment Department.

The employment department at Rickerbys, already regarded as the leading employment law team in Gloucestershire by independent legal directory, Chambers and Partners, handles employment related issues including HR support, disciplinary situations, redundancies and reorganisations, working time regulations, business transfers and the TUPE regulations, and unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal and other employment tribunal proceedings among other areas.

Darren will join Rickerbys’ six-strong employment team, working along side Partners Matthew Clayton and Alice Reeve and Solicitors Kristine Scott, Simon Collingridge, Emilie Darwin and Rachel Watkins.

Formerly Head of Employment at BPE Solicitors, Darren Sherborne has a 15 years of experience of industrial relations and advising clients on many aspects of employment law including the removal of senior staff and board members, drafting bespoke employment contracts and service agreements, TUPE cases and defending clients at Employment Tribunals. Darren’s unique experience working on both sides of the industrial relations fence led to his appointment to the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) board of Arbitrators – one of only nine appointments to be made in the last ten years.

In his past role, Darren oversaw a ten-fold growth in turnover from 2001 to 2009. Darren is also listed in both the Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 guides as a ‘Leader in his Field’.
