Rickerbys spring clean & go red for Acorns - Feb 07
Rickerbys Solicitors in Cheltenham continued the Valentine theme on Friday last week, when most of the firm came dressed to work, not in their smart suits and shirts as you’d expect, but dressed down and wearing either something red or pink in their outfit.
As well as dressing the part, many of the staff had a spring clean at home and brought to work lots of bags, full of items to donate, in a massive effort to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice, the firm’s nominated charity this year.
Rickerbys’ Charity and Social Chairperson, Tess Engelbrecht, said “This is the third collection we’ve taken part in for Acorns and each collection has proven very successful. On Friday, over 15 bags were donated, as well as a set of drawers, some vases and even a nearly-new boxed Canon camera! In addition, Rickerbys donated a few office chairs to the collection. The firm has been happy to support Acorns this year and are delighted to hear that our support has contributed to the reopening of beds at Acorns in Worcester.”
“It is tremendous that the hard working partners and staff at Rickerbys have again taken time to hold another collection for our charity shops and join in the "wear something red to work day" we held as part of Valentine's week. Such fantastic support has helped us reopen the beds we were forced to close at Acorns, Worcester last year, which provides essential short breaks for the county's life-limited children and their families,” said Andy Jarrett, Acorn’s Employee Fundraising & Payroll Giving Manager. |
