New notary service available for clients - June 07

Cheltenham firm Rickerbys can now offer a valuable and comprehensive service that very few law firms in the county can offer. Rickerbys has a fully qualified notary within the firm, which individuals and businesses alike could benefit from in a variety of ways.

Paul Engelbrecht, associate solicitor, has taken over a year to complete the Cambridge Diploma, which now makes him the eighth solicitor in the whole of Gloucestershire to have notary status and only the fourth in Cheltenham.

Put simply, a notary is qualified to authenticate the proper execution of documents or verify facts or information in a form that is recognised in other countries.

For individuals this can mean anything from selling or purchasing properties overseas to verifying your personal status before getting married abroad.

For businesses a notary may be needed where there is an international element to the company, for example, the assignment of patents or setting up branch offices or subsidiary companies overseas.

Paul’s latest qualification adds to Rickerbys’ strength in this service, as associate solicitor Brian Jones, formerly a partner with Cheltenham Law firm Davis Gregory, is also already a qualified Notary.
